About Us

Who we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family

Who we are

Newark Wesleyan Church is a small local church located in Newark, Delaware. We gather for worship each Sunday at 10:30am in person and also online.

Our hope is that our community is one that anyone can belong to - no matter your history with faith or the church, you are welcome in our family.

Our services are a blend of contemporary and traditional styles, with a focus on connecting with God and each other.

Where we come from

Newark Wesleyan Church has existed since 1943. From a small house church in the 40's, to our current building built in 1976, we have a rich heritage within the community of Newark.

Where we're headed

Our vision is centered around three things: Be with Jesus, Become like Jesus, Do what Jesus did. We believe that God has invited each and everyone one of us into a personal, life giving relationship with him. When we spend time with Jesus, he transforms us into his image, so that we can be sent out into the world to do what Jesus did. Our vision for the future is a body of believers fully committed to being with Jesus, becoming like him, and doing what he did.

What this means for you
